The number of pieces you split a task into is limited because the time you save goes up, then makes a sharp dip until the designers would literally have to share a brain, which is impossible
The amount of time designers spend trying to stay in sync with each other is a wavy line trending upwards

On an infinite scale, the amount of visuals to create vs. the amount of time it takes to explain the design is the shape of a large U, or a smile. Aim for the center bottom because few visuals means lots of energy explaining due to lack of clarity, and lots of visuals means the amount of time explaining is high because of the sheer volume of stuff.
