Designomics

The number of pieces you split a task into is limited because the time you save goes up, then makes a sharp dip until the designers would literally have to share a brain, which is impossible
The amount of time designers spend trying to stay in sync with each other is a wavy line trending upwards
The macro view of a product's quality over time is a smooth upward line, but the micro view is a crazy squiggle that trends sort of upwards
The squiggle of confidence I feel is full of peaks and valleys and always under the squiggle of confidence I project due to a culture that rewards extroversion and self-promotion
The larger a team is, the higher the pain of not having a design system, until it becomes totally unsustainable
You can spend time on a solid foundation and not get as many feelings of progress at first, but it will go up sharply - whereas if you skip the foundation, you'll soon fizzle out and not make much progress at all
The law of whiteboard economics states that the more good ideas you have flowing out of you, the fewer markers that actually work are available
On an infinite scale, the amount of visuals to create vs. the amount of time it takes to explain the design is the shape of a large U, or a smile. Aim for the center bottom because few visuals means lots of energy explaining due to lack of clarity, and lots of visuals means the amount of time explaining is high because of the sheer volume of stuff.
